Parasites: Saboteurs of Our Immune System
BY DR. GLORIA GILBÈRE, N.D., D.A.HOM., PH.D.

Parasites are organisms that live off their host—you. They sustain their life by feeding off the food and supplements we consume, as well as our cells and our energy— causing their host (you again) untold bodily damage. Recent medical studies estimate that up to 95% of Americans have at least one form of parasite living in their bodies. Then, there are the toxins—the wastes generated by what these "uninvited guests" consume from our bodies—that ultimately challenge our immune system. The ramifications of infestations may range from minor to lifethreatening.

PARASITES, NOT ME!

People living in the United States are of the belief that parasites are a serious problem in Third World countries; not for the "clean," well-fed, high-tech nation in which we live. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Scientists have identified over 300 types of parasites thriving in today's U.S. population, and they include pinworms, tapeworms, hookworms, ringworms, whipworms, roundworms, and heartworms.

As repulsive and unpleasant as they are to think about, the reality is that before we can evict these health-depleting trespassers, we must first acknowledge that parasites may be present in our system. They can be found in feces, as well as contaminated soil, meat, vegetables, and water, and may enter the body via the mouth, skin, eyes, and bottoms of feet—contracted or transmitted through the following methods:
  • Pets
  • Shaking hands with an infected person
  • Sexual contact—parasites are more easily passed through sexual practices than venereal diseases
  • Raw vegetables—a perfect breeding ground for microscopic parasite eggs to be laid
  • Rare meat—especially under-cooked pork, which is known to carry tapeworms
  • Toxic build-up of colonic plaque—another perfect breeding ground: warm, dark, and moist
  • Insect bites
These invaders become even more dangerous if we consider that most conventional physicians don't suspect or recognize the classic symptoms of parasite infestation. Most simply aren't educated in parasitology outside a basic medical school introduction, unless they train for a specialty in tropical medicine. Symptoms may consist of one or more of the following and are often associated with other disorders:
  • Fever
  • Anemia
  • Abdominal pain
  • Cirrhosis
  • Diarrhea
  • Apathy
  • Malnutrition
  • Liver dysfunction
  • Lung lesions
  • Environmental allergies
  • Food allergies
  • Anal itching
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Vertigo
  • Persistent acne
  • Teeth grinding
  • Failure to thrive
    (children)
  • Recurring headaches
  • Inflammatory disorders
    (arthritis, Fibromyalgia)
To further complicate matters, treatment tends to focus on the symptoms rather than the cause. This approach delays healing and could mean the parasitic infection goes undetected for years.

During that time, parasites thrive at the expense of our gastrointestinal tract, becoming fat off their favorite diet of sugars, processed foods, and excessive "bad" carb consumption. They also feed on toxins and waste material within the body. The danger grows in that they become extremely toxic, and even deadly, as the waste they generate is expelled into the host body, overloading the elimination organs, i.e., liver, kidneys, and intestinal tract. What these organs can't remove is then reabsorbed into the bloodstream, weakening the entire immune system, leading to chronic and/or more acute conditions. Research confirms that parasites are a common denominator in people with AIDS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Candidiasis, Fibromyalgia, and many other immune disorders.

CLEANSE ANYONE?

Since our immune system is the first line of defense against invading bacteria, viruses, and parasites, it's imperative this system stays free of additional burden. The good news is parasites can be safely and effectively eliminated without the use of harmful drugs and their side effects.

CapraSite is a unique, natural formulation, containing 18 proven herbals and botanicals respected for their ability to detoxify the body by cleansing the intestines of parasites and fungus, thus supporting healthy intestinal elimination with the following ingredients:
  • A Parasite Elimination Blend—Garlic bulb, Pau d'Arco, Plantago avato, Papaya leaf, Pumpkin seed
  • An Immune Enhancing Blend—Coriolus versicolor, Grifola frondosa, Lentinula edodes, Schizophyllum commune
  • An Intestinal Balancing Blend—Caprylic acid, Ginger, Slippery elm, Rosemary
  • A Systemic Detoxifying Botanical Blend—Grapefruit seed extract, Lemon peel, Black walnut, Oregon grape root,Wormwood
This unique formula not only eliminates parasites, but also soothes the intestinal tract, and the plant polysaccharides disrupt the ability of parasites to attach to intestinal walls.

If you have never performed a parasite cleanse, or have recently visited a Third World country, have had food-poisoning, or have been diagnosed with an immune system disorder, the recommended protocol for cleansing is 2 weeks on CapraSite; rest one week to allow for any unhatched eggs to develop; then CapraSite for an additional 2 weeks. For maintenance, it is most effective to cleanse 2 weeks every six months. For specific therapy protocol, especially if you're extremely sensitive, consult with your healthcare provider.

We must never lose sight of the fact that parasites plague Americans as much or more than any person residing in Africa. Performing condition-specific, non-drug detoxifying cleanses for an initial period is the best health insurance you can obtain for good health and longevity—after all, you can't achieve quality of life carrying around all that excess baggage.
