Product Description: Safecoat Caulking Compound provides a water resistant, flexible, easy to install, non sag sealant with excellent initial and permanent adhesion. Resin rich formula affords maximum bond strength. For windows, sealing cracks, filling holes, door perimeters, walls and woodwork, siding openings and masonry cracks. Safely used even by the chemically sensitive.
Warnings: Health Precautions: As with all caulking compounds, keep container tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not take internally. Always use adequate ventilation. If you are chemically sensitive, always test for personal tolerance.
Additional Info: Limitations: Do not apply to substrate in direct sun or where hot to the touch as this will cause excessively fast curing and prevent adhesion into a wet, tacky base. Sample test a small area to assure proper adhesion can be obtained. Do not contaminate. Do not use when indoor or surface temperature is below 60 degrees F. Do not freeze. Limited Warranty: The great variation between environmental factors, possible surfaces and application techniques, and the lack of control we have over such matters, must affect our warranty policies. Safecoat products are guaranteed not to be defective when applied and used in accordance with instructions. However, liability, whether express or implied, is limited solely to replacement of product or refund of purchase price and shall under no circumstances include liability for labor costs or consequential damages. Because of the variety of circumstances affecting each job, it is the user's responsibility to determine the suitability and safety of the product for any particular application. This limited warranty may not be modified or extended by manufacturer's representatives, distributors, or dealers of AFM products. We particularly recommend that users always test in small inconspicuous areas before application to the entire surface.
Packaging: White Plastic
Ingredients: Modified Acrylic Copolymer, Titanium Dioxide, Water, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Muscovite Mica, Propylene Glycol. VOC: 53 gpl excluding water, 32 gpl in container.
Does Not Contain: Formaldehyde or Toxic Preservatives.
Suggested Use: Surface Preparation and Application: Prior to application, clean out all areas to receive caulking down to sound substrate. Remove all dirt, dust, oils, grease, wax, unsound existing caulk, dried out fillers, powdery residue and other foreign materials. Blow out or wipe area to reveal a clean base. Surface must be completely dry and stable prior to application. Application over wet contact faces may result in lack of bond. Avoid damaged, contaminated substrates including rotted wood. Old wood surfaces may require priming, but permit no release compounds, waxed or mildewed surfaces. Previously painted areas that are loose must be scraped clean and metal surfaces should be rust free and de-oiled. Always have adequate ventilation. Apply a smooth, even bead using a standard caulking gun (note occasional small pockets of air in tube are normal and may briefly interrupt flow). Do not allow product to cure on adjacent surfaces (remove immediately by wiping). After thorough drying out and total cure, caulked surface may be lightly sanded to smoothness desired and painted. Keep tube closed when not in use. Do not apply when surface temperature is below 60 degrees F.
Coverage: 1/4" x 1/4" (6.4mm x 6.4mm) width depth cross section can be filled at a rate of approximately 25 lineal feet.
Clean-Up: Clean tools and equipment while still wet with SafeChoice Super Clean and warm water.
Drying/Curing Time: Under normal conditions, 24 hours for full cure. Normal conditions include a clean, dry surface, access to fresh air flow, a dust free environment, moderate humidity, and temperatures of 70 degrees F. Thick application, high humidity or conditions other than normal will cause Safecoat Caulking Compound to cure more slowly.
