Product Description:
Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) is the common name for a family of trees native to northern and Central Asia. Although primarily grown as an ornamental, Horse Chestnut is first mentioned as a traditional herbal remedy in the naturalist Dioscorides' Materia Medica around 1565. Modern studies have identified triterpenoid saponins as the active component in Horse Chestnut, and these compounds appear to be responsible for its reported benefits.
