Product Description: After years of research, CWR now offers a unique filter technology that is capable of removing chloramine, called the Carbonized Ceramic filter. The Carbonized Ceramic filter has been tested by an NSF Certified Laboratory and meets NSF Standard 42. Also, the Carbonized Ceramic filter has been independently tested and achieves 99% reduction of chlorine and THMs.

The Carbonized Ceramic filter provides a number of advantages over standard carbon block filters and pour through pitchers. It can reduce Chloramines, THMs and has the unique capability of ceramic filters to remove parasites and bacteria as well being cleanable. The Carbonized ceramic filtration efficiency has been improved to 99% at 0.3 microns, compared to the Doulton Ceramic which is only 91% reduction at the same micron level. This will provide better protection from parasites and bacteria, producing cleaner, safer drinking water.

Specifications: * The housing is made of medical grade-ABS plastic.
* It stands 10" high, 2.5" long, 1.5" wide and weighs 6 pounds.
* For added protection, consider using this unit in conjunction with a fluoride, nitrate, or VOC upgrade.
* A plumber is recommended for installation.

Cleaning Area: *The flow rate of the ceramic filter is 1.5 gpm (gallons per minute) at 45 psi and the filter is effective up to 1,200 gallons.
*The ceramic carbon filter will reduced the following: chlorine (class 1) is reduced 99%, Chloramines - >95%, bad taste/odor is reduced 99.00%, lead (150 ppb) is reduced 96%, particulate reduction (class 1) rust, dirt, sediment (greater than 0.8 microns) is 99.99%, parasites, such as cryptosporidium and Giardia is reduced 99.99%, and turbidity is reduced 99.69%.

Filter Media: The Carbonized Ceramic filter is composed of a micro-porous ceramic that has a large amount of high density carbon baked onto the inside and outside of the ceramic surface. This unique filter configuration provides more adsorption surface area to reduce chlorine, chloramines and their by-products plus chemicals. Other filtration media is blended with the carbon to reduce lead. The filtration efficiency of the new ceramic exceeds previous ceramics and provides better reduction of parasites and bacteria.
Filter Change: Filter should be changed once a year.
Warranty: There is a 1-year manufacture warranty on housing and component parts.

Additional Info: Cleaning Instructions: Dirt and rust can be removed from the surface of the ceramic filter restoring the flow rate and increasing the life span of the filter for up to 1 year. Use an abrasive, non-detergent pad (scotch bright) and lightly rub the sediment off the ceramic filter. Do not use a brush or brillo pad. It will damage the ceramic filter. Do not try to restore the filter to the original color, too much wear will lower the efficiency of the filter and could damage the ceramic.
