Product Description: The next generation of advanced water filtration equipment has been developed to protect your family's health and make your home a "safe haven" from dangerous toxic pollutants. The new CWR Crown Water Filtration Series synergistically combines advanced filtration technologies to achieve the safest drinking water available. The most advanced micro active carbon is combined with ceramic prefiltration, heavy metal and ion exchange media to virtually eliminate MTBE's, VOC's, THM's, parasites, dirt, bad taste and odor, lead, plus many other toxic substances to safe levels in your drinking water. The fluoride filter uses a special ion exchange media to reduce sodium fluoride. This totally selective media has an excellent affinity for fluoride and reduces this contaminant from your drinking water.
Specifications: * Both housings are a medical grade-ABS, non-leachable plastic.
* Both housings stands 10 inches high and is 2.5 inches in diameter.
* A plumber is required to install this filtration system.

Cleaning Area: * The flow rate of the ceramic filter is 1.5 gpm (gallons per minute) at 45 psi and the filter is effective up to 1,200 gallons.
* The ceramic carbon filter will reduced the following: chlorine (class 1) is reduced 97.20%, bad taste/odor is reduced 99.00%, lead (150 ppb) is reduced 98.25%, particulate reduction (class 1) rust, dirt, sediment (greater than 0.8 microns) is 99.99%, parasites, such as cryptosporidium and Giardia is reduced 99.99%, and turbidity is reduced 99.69%.
* The capacity of the fluoride filter is approximately 600 gallons depending on concentration of fluoride and hardness in the drinking water.

Filter Media: The carbon filter is a 3 stage filtration system.
* The first stage is Bentonite Kieselguhr ceramic which filters out parasites, bacteria, rust, dirt and sediment from the water. A small amount of silver baked into the ceramic inhibits the growth of bacteria.
* The second stage is made up of activated coconut shell carbon which reduces chlorine, chemicals, pesticides, bad taste and odors. The third stage is a heavy metal removing compound, which is incorporated in the carbon block called A.T.S. (titanium zeolite) that reduces lead and copper.

The fluoride filter media consists of activated alumina (a granular highly porous and adsorptive form of aluminum oxide).
* The filter will remove up to 70% of fluoride from water supplies.
* Activated alumina filters have one duty; to remove fluoride from water, but there is a tradeoff. Although an activated alumina filter lowers fluoride levels quite well it may add a little bit of aluminum back into the water.
* CWR takes special precautions with their fluoride filter to prevent aluminum from entering the drinking water. It is triple washed and pre-conditioned with special gaskets.

Filter Change: The ceramic and fluoride filters should be changed after 1,200 gallons or once a year.
Warranty: There is a 1-year manufacture warranty on housing and component parts.

Additional Info: Cleaning Instructions: Dirt and rust can be removed from the surface of the ceramic filter restoring the flow rate and increasing the life span of the filter for up to 1 year. Use an abrasive, non-detergent pad (scotch bright) and lightly rub the sediment off the ceramic filter. Do not use a brush or brillo pad. It will damage the ceramic filter. Do not try to restore the filter to the original color, too much wear will lower the efficiency of the filter and could damage the ceramic.
