About the Author: Susan E. Brown, Ph.D., C.C.N., is a medical anthropologist and certified nutritionist who has consulted widely on socio-economic, cultural, educational, and health issues. She has taught in North and South American universities and authored numerous academic and popular articles.
Currently, Dr. Brown directs the Osteoporosis Education Project and the Nutrition Education and Consulting Service in Syracuse, New York. She lectures widely on osteoporosis prevention and reversal and teaches the use of a holistic, natural program for the regeneration of bone health.
In addition to a busy private practice, Dr. Brown serves as a consultant to various medical groups, including Serammune Physicians Laboratory, Reston, Virginia and North Medical Family Physicians, Syracuse, New York.
Dr. Brown is co-author of The Mend Clinic Guide to Natural Medicine for Menopause and Beyond (Bantam Doubleday Dell, 1997) and has written numerous articles in English and Spanish.
She received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1972 and is the recipient of two Fulbright-Hays Scholar Awards and an Organization of American States Research Fellowship. Dr. Brown is also a member of Sigma Xi, the honorary scientific research organization of North America.
