Product Description: SafeChoice Carpet Seal is a unique sealer designed to reduce the outgassing of harmful chemicals used in carpet backing. These chemicals include known toxics and carcinogens such as formaldehyde, toluene, benzene, pc4, xylene and styrene. Carpet Seal is odor-free and, when properly applied, effectively cuts outgassing for up to one year.
Warnings: Health Precautions: As with all cleaning products, keep container tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not ingest. If swallowed, drink two (2) glasses of water to dilute. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes. If you are chemically sensitive, always test for personal tolerance. Limited Liability: Liability, whether express or implied, is limited solely to replacement of product shown to be defective when applied in accordance with instructions and shall under no circumstances include liability for labor costs or consequential damages. It is the user's responsibility to determine the suitability and safety of the product for its intended use. Suggested Use: Use On: SafeChoice Carpet Seal is generally suitable for synthetic carpets and rugs. Because of variations in materials and production processes used by different manufacturers, you should always spot test to insure compatibility with and colorfastness of your carpet. Wool fibers generally do not react well to water based products, so SafeChoice Carpet Seal is not recommended for wool.
Application: Carpet should be vacuumed and cleaned prior to application of Carpet Seal. Use not toxic, odorless SafeChoice Carpet Shampoo. Follow package instructions for use. Immediately after shampooing apply SafeChoice Carpet Seal evenly (while carpet is still damp) by misting it onto the carpet using a hand-held pump sprayer (similar to a garden-type sprayer). Do not oversaturate. SafeChoice Carpet Seal cannot be used on a dry carpet. Work SafeChoice Carpet Seal into the fibers with a rotary brush, rake or clean garage broom, just enough to assure complete and uniform contact. Upon completion, cloth dry or blot fiber tops to prevent formation of white residue as product dries. When using carpet products it is advisable to put small squares of aluminum foil under furniture legs until carpet is thoroughly dry.
Even coverage and wiping surface is essential. When SafeChoice Carpet Seal is to be applied to a carpet not just immediately cleaned, prior to application be sure to dampen carpet with clear water using a hand-held pump sprayer. The drying and curing process may be accelerated by using conventional heating methods. Do not permit traffic on the carpet until dry to touch. Periodic carpet shampooing may be performed as required. After two or three cleanings or one year, re-application of SafeChoice Carpet Seal may be necessary.
Coverage: One gallon of SafeChoice Carpet Seal covers approximately 300 square feet for medium to tight weave carpet. One quart of SafeChoice Carpet Seal covers approximately 75 square feet for medium to tight weave carpet.
Clean-Up: Rinse with clear water.
Drying/Curing Time: In moderate temperatures and humidity four to six hours to the touch - total cure time twenty-four hours. Cool temperatures and/or high humidity may increase drying time.
